MICROSUCTIONING

At Tui Ear Clinic we specialise in microsuctioning. The Ear Nurse will look through a surgical microscope, allowing her a magnified view of your ear canal.

Ear suctioning refers to a small cannula that is used to remove the wax from your ear canal - just like a tiny vacuum cleaner . Other instruments may also be used to ensure good clearance of your ears.

All methods used by Tui Ear Nurses are pain-free and safe. At worst you may find the suction a bit noisy and otherwise a bit tickly but pain is not normal during the procedure.

Microsuctioning can also be done on children, and is mostly tolerated well. Our nurses will normally try to use “quiet” instruments on children if possible.

A picture is worth a thousand words. At Tui Ear Clinic we use microscope technology from Carl Zeiss to make the most minute details and finest structures clearly visible. This enables us to visualise brilliant, high contrast true colour images, allowing our Nurses to see the finest details and ensures excellent service delivery. We also offer the option for our clients to see the inside of their own ears and follow the procedure on a wall-mounted monitor.
