Our Ear Nurses are part of the Ear Nurse Specialist Group in New Zealand. This is a professional group of Registered Nurses trained in the specialty of Otology. We are specially trained in providing professional and pain free care to anyone who is experiencing concerns regarding their ears or hearing.
Our Ear Nurses are able to assist with the following:
Education and explanation on various ear conditions including:
Ear Wax and general ear care
Ear canal and middle ear infections
Use of ear drops and antibiotics for ear infections
Glue ear and middle ear fluid
Advice with flying and diving
Eustachian Tube dysfunction
Ear drum perforations
Ear pain
Swimmers ear
Surfers ear or Exostoses
Tinnitus
Hearingloss
Sudden Deafness
2. Referral to other providers:
Audiologists for full diagnostic hearing tests - please note that children under the age of 4 requires a specialized setting to perform a hearing test. They often need to be referred to the audiology department at your local hospital or a private audiologist who provides this specialized service.
Ear Nose and Throat Specialists in private practice (to be referred to the public health system you will need to see your doctor but we can provide supporting documents and notes to assist with this)
